The Annual Copenhagen Film Festival returns for its annual date from 11-13 October to the Husets Biograf for a three-day vibrant cinematic event. With a rich programme of feature and short films by local and international filmmakers, the ACFF showcases independent cinema.

Excited to be back in our favourite cinema hall, we look forward to bringing indie gems from around the world. Through 4 thematic strands with films of various genres, styles and aesthetics, this edition delves into social issues, personal dilemmas and everyday challenges.

Through a Shorts selection, the first-day programme titled 'Modern Life Maladies' explores the complexities and disconnections we face daily. Characters struggling with class and social status anxieties, the consequences of war or the impact of technology are the epicentre of this short series.

The second day is dedicated to short films. Both programmes feature big shorts by Danish and international filmmakers. From bizarre mishaps to characters teetering on the edge of sanity, ‘Unhinged Much?’ celebrates the offbeat moments when life goes completely off the rails. Wild adventures, risky decisions, irresistible temptations and explorations of one’s sexuality, the second film collection deals with the chaos and eventual freedom when we let our desires take the wheel. ‘Desire Will Set You Free’dives into the bold, messy, and passionate pursuit of what we crave the most.
The third and last day of the 2024 Annual Copenhagen Film Festival interrogates relationships and bonds created or dismantled due to shared experiences and common causes. Under the theme ‘Threads of Connection’, one feature and 6 shorts weave a tapestry of stories celebrating the unexpected ties that bind us.

We are thrilled to be back at the Husets Biograf for the Festival’s 8th edition with a film collection that showcases the power and creativity of independent cinema.
