Lone Scherfig

Judging the "Best Director (Short)" category Scherfig is a Danish filmmaker, trained from the National Film School of Denmark and University of Copenhagen. Throughout the years she has written, directed tv-series and films in almost every genre possible. Scherfig’s break-through film Italien for Beginners (2000) paved the way for her international career, and she has since then gone on to projects as An Education (2009) and One Day (2011) and has received more than 50 international film awards.
